For those of you unaware of what this means, there is generally no more need for HEX-editing to import stuff!

not wanting to piss you off.. but wouldn't it be easier if we still use Arjun file adder? it's the same thing and you can replace in any reference on the arc file by yourself.

nikethebike Wrote:{ Sep 12 2012, 08:14:13 PM } - Chakan, pay me and I will fix the bugs for you. I would love to have this editor as my full time job but that's not the case. I have work and a life to deal with that actually feeds me and my family. My time is not unlimited you know. I created the bug submission thread so that people could post the bugs they find and I will solve them when and if I get time to do it.
If you had done your own homework you would know that AI have nothing to do with slots, but rather models that aren't converted.
"this means I have to start all over again"
Ever thought of doing frequent file backups of the contents in svredit_files instead???
Also, giving me info like "sometime when I do something, it does not do what it should" is completely worthless to me. I need to know a lot of stuff specified in the bug submission thread so that I have a slight chance to reproduce your problem. You need to specify exactly what you did and under what circumstance.
Feel free to post in the bug submission thread.
To add to this, when working always do one change at at time then test it that way it is easy to rectify and you wont have to start from scratch
edit...Oops just realised the date of that post!

Sure you can, I haven't used it myself though. So it also fixes the arc for you without hexing? Great in that case. I just added this function since it was an easy conversion to get it to work and a good base for future stuff in the editor. Is Arjuns tool also command line, btw?
And I'm definitely not pissed off, haha.
One thing I noticed that I did not add to the documentation is that you can search for certain file ids in the arc by using "/" to first specify section (or some value that needs to be found before the actual searched for id). If there is the same file id located in two places in the arc, you can first search for the section.
For example:
You want to replace id "0002" in TGL section. The first occurance of "0002" will be after the STG section. You can therefor not just specify "0002" as file id. Then instead type "TGL/0002" as file id.
If I remember correctly it should be possible to also search for more values by using more "/" characters. The last value after the last "/" is the id that will be updated.

Forgive my noobeness , does this mean that we can identify unknown ids ? for example loading screens , menu svr 2010 logo and some belts ids ?

No.
It only means that you can IMPORT arena selection pic pacs, move pacs, loading screen pacs, belts and whatever you can think of pacs to the file it needs to be imported to plus that the arc file will be automatically updated at the same time. It's an external tool just like character or arena import so it can be used for both 10 & 11.
You will need to have a tutorial so that you know what pac file and file id to update in the arc. You also need to put the files as usual in the svredit_files folder.

And is the SVR menu logo unknown?
I'm sure I saw it somewhere...

For svr 2010 , both the menu logo and the loading screens are still uknown
About the move pac , is it still theoretical or did you try doing it with the editor ?

with Arjun tool, you don't need to run cmd. you just use the .exe file and select the original .pac file and the file that you want to import. it will automatically import for you and give you XX and YY values. then you can [manually] search in the arc file for the right position and put the XX and YY values.
