Unlocking Items
To unlock any item, you must unlock the related card. A lot of these are unlocked randomly after earning a good ending in Story Mode. Finishing story mode with most characters will unlock 3 cards, while completing Story Mode with a champion will only unlock 1 card. A few cards need you to meet very specific requirements, which are listed below.
1. Play as Fred Durst – Defeat at least 20 opponents in Slobber Knocker mode as Undertaker. Note: Some websites state that you only need to beat 15 opponents.
2. Play as Mick Foley – In Story Mode, tell Mr. McMahon that you don’t want to form a tag team. Talk trash to the Superstar in the ring and then inform Michael Cole that you want to kick his butt, then beat the Superstar in a match. Show up on the stage when challenged on SmackDown and then win the match. Lose the next match at WrestleMania and then beat Foley in a Hell In A Cell match.
3. Play as Tajiri – In Story Mode, tell Mr. McMahon that you don’t want to form a tag team. Then talk trash to the Superstar in the ring and inform Michael Cole that you were just messing. Go and see William Regal in his office and turn down the European Title match. Defeat Tajiri in the next match.
4. Play as Rhino – In Story Mode, tell Mr. McMahon that you don’t want to form a tag team. Talk trash to the Superstar in the ring and inform Michael Cole that you want to kick his butt. After the next match, don’t address the Superstar who calls you out. Instead, seek out Earl Hebner and challenge for the Hardcore Championship. Defeat Rhyno to unlock him.
5. Play as Jerry Lynn – In Story Mode, tell Mr. McMahon that you don’t want to form a tag team. Talk trash on the mic to the Superstar in the ring, and then inform Michael Cole that you want to kick his butt. After this match, do not respond to the SmackDown superstar that challenges you. Instead, go and ask Earl Hebner how he is doing. When talking to William Regal, pick the third option and win the Battle Royal.
6. Play as Spike Dudley – In Story Mode, tell Mr. McMahon that you do want to form a tag team, and ask someone who isn’t a champion to team with you. Win your first match, and let your partner find a new teammate for the next one. While he is searching, go to the Locker Room and help Spike Dudley. Win the Tables match.
7. Street Fight match – In Story Mode, tell Mr. McMahon that you don’t want to form a tag team. Talk trash to the Superstar in the ring and tell Michael Cole that you want to kick his butt. Win the match, and then accept the challenge on SmackDown. Choose a Street Fight match and then win.
8. Ultimate Submission match – In Story Mode, tell Mr. McMahon that you don’t want to form a tag team. Talk trash to the Superstar in the ring and tell Michael Cole that you want to kick his butt. Win the match, and then accept the challenge on SmackDown. Choose an Ultimate Submission match and then win.
9. WrestleMania X-7 Arena – In Story Mode, follow the conditions to unlock cards 6, 7 or 8. Then win the following match at WrestleMania.
10. Insurrextion Arena - In Story Mode, tell Mr. McMahon that you don’t want to form a tag team. Talk trash on the mic to the Superstar in the ring, and then inform Michael Cole that you want to kick his butt. After this match, do not respond to the SmackDown superstar that challenges you. Instead, go and ask Earl Hebner how he is doing. When talking to William Regal, pick the European Championship match and then win it.
