About the guy from NMZ, i cant remember his name, but he made 2 patches.
He replaced specific characters (some of them legends) and imported SYM characters (half in one patch and half in the second).
Then, as you said, you could use one imported character at a time, only in slot 2, and only in specific matches, (you also had to do some trick with interference).
In my opinion, it was not very useful with so many limitations, so i didnt even download it.
