What do the edited xx_face.png and exported xx_face.png stand for in my case ?

No matter which mode your textures are originally in, you need to compose them in 256 color mode (use color reduction to change between color depths). Then change them back to their original color depth. It won't work otherwise.

Maicue can you help me out ? it seems that the problem faces me on step 4 of your tutorial (16 color textures are the transparent ones) ,they have white boxes (not grey) i reduced them to 256 , composed alpha channel and the white became grey, but when i reduce back to 16 there is no grey anymore (and not even white, the palette colour is fully occupied with colour (for example not half green and half grey but green all over).

When reducing color, check these settings.

From the looks of things in optpix , this looks to have solved the problem ! i have yet to try it in game
