In other words you want to learn how to do what my editor does...
A tip could be to compare a plistps2.arc and chetc.pac that is unedited to files that have only been started and saved in the editor. See what values have been changed in a hex editor.
And the Arjun tutorial is pretty good.

How did this turn out for you?
What are your plans in the long run? Learning and creating a rebuilt ChEtc.pac for the PS3?
If you just want it on PS2 it is so much easier creating it with SVRedit.

Nope unfortunatley not. I've now been able to find someone to mod my PS3 so I'll be concentrating on my modding on that system since I can now decrypt PS3 saves I can decrypt the save and alter the names directly on the save.
