By reference pics I assume you mean other game face textures? Otherwise I'm not sure (still pretty new to all this).
I tried using Scott Halls face from the WWE 2k14 textures which came out okay but was just off so I grabbed this pic from a promotional 2k14 poster and it worked well once I ironed out the lighting. Textures for his trunks/arm and leg bands are from 2k14 also (DLC pack). I assume that's what you mean.
Although I'm having a lot of trouble right now importing the textures into the PAC file. For half of them, I keep getting the error that the size needs to be the same which is double on some of them. I load them up and see that even though I saved these files with 16 colors, they're reverting to 256 colors for some reason and I can't figure out how to save them as 16 colors.
Is it not possible (for example), to have a tm2 file with only skin in it, add a dark texture and save as 16 colors? That's the issue I'm having. A skin only texture where I added some hair (black color) but when I reduce the color to 16 and save, when I load it back up, it still shows as 256.
Just to clarify so someone can hopefully help me, this is what I'm doing.
1. Open tm2 file
2. Save as png
3. Open in Photoshop
4. Switch to RGB
5. Edit and then save as png
6. Open in Optpix
7. Reduce color to 16 (256 if the file calls for it but the issue is the 16 files)
8. Create alpha channel (half 256 setting)
9. Save as tm2 file
Then the original tm2 file shows 128x128 8bpp (16) + 100% Alpha on it. When I open the tm2 file I just saved, it shows 128x128 8bpp (256) + 100% Alpha. The original tm2 file size is 9kb but this other is 18kb and I can't import it in.
Any ideas?
Okay, changed the indexed color image to 4 bit for the 16 colors and size is working now. I'll see if it all works out once I import them all.
Got it working and it works fine in game (imported over the Rock). Only issue is I used Bradshaw (SYM) as the base and having not played that game a lot, I didn't realise his hair moved all over the place haha so I'll have to set him up with someone else I think. Looks fine but weird with all that flowing hair.
